HOW WE WERE YOUNG AND STUPID

1.I believe that everyone has a favourite pastime. For me, I loved playing catching during the primary school days. I think that catching was the most enjoyable activity in primary schools. It was a time that makes communication possible, bringing a closer bond between my friends and me. Of course, I don’t only play catching with my classmates. We played catching together with people from other classes too, specifically the EM1s. I don’t know why. But I do remember that there were some disputes between the EM1s and the EM2s. We seem to hate each other a lot. But for me, I don’t despise them because I do have friends from the EM2 stream and I don’t think it’s a good idea to look down on them. There was this time when we played catching together during the holidays in school. Mind you, we had to go back to school for extra enrichment classes. So, we played “Ice and Water”. I was the “Water” and I was responsible for catching those “Ice”. Most of the “Ice” were caught and HT was one of the last few that weren’t caught yet, so I decided to chase after him since nobody is chasing after him. He was running towards the male toilet. I soon caught up with him and ran closely behind him, reaching out my hands at the same time so that it is easier to catch him. Unexpectedly, I lost my balance and pulled down his pants! I turned back immediately as he tried to pull his pants up again. Yes, I did apologise! It was so embarrassing! Till now, it’s still a secret between the both of us. What a hilarious experience!

2.I was very naughty and playful when I was young. I behaved like a boy because I have a younger brother and I’ll always hang out with his friends to play. I’m still quite close to one of his primary school classmates and we will always have that much nonsense to talk about. There was this day when my brother and me played in our room. We slept on a double-deck bed at that time. I slept on the upper deck of the bed while my brother slept on the lower deck of the bed. My mother was watching television at that time, so she wasn’t very bothered about us playing in the room together. In any cases, she wasn’t bothered about us playing together. She believed that we could create a closer bond if we stay and play together with each other more often.  So, my brother and I were pillow-fighting in the room. We had this competition to see who got the most hits on any part of the body. I was on the upper deck of the bed so that I could use the pillows to hit his head from above. How scheming! I got excited as my brother kept losing to me. My brother got smart and he started dodging away from the pillows and bolsters that I had. I didn’t want to lose to him, so I kind of stood up on the bed. What do you call that? Half-standing? I can’t stand properly on the bed because I was on the upper deck. I will hit my head! I started aiming the pillows and bolsters at my brother. Unfortunately, one of my feet got caught in between the wooden railings beside the bed and I fell down from the upper deck. Ouch! I felt quite dizzy after the fall as I hit my head and my brother got frantic and hurried to my mother. My parents then sent me to the hospital for a check-up to make sure I was all right. Luckily, it wasn’t very serious. However, I have this spot on my head whereby there is lesser hair compared to the rest now. Men! May my hair grow back to the same amount as before! Since then, I have this phobia of sleeping on double deck beds.
